Live Nativity – September 2016

Posted by on Aug 28, 2016

Luke 2 8-15 – “And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.  An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around the, and they were terrified.  But the angel said to them ‘Do not be afraid.  I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.  This will be a sign to you; you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manager.’

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, parsing God and Saying.

‘Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.’

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, ‘Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.’”

Summer has passed and fall is approaching.  The children are back at school and fall sports are under way. As we get back into this busy routine we all need a break!  During that little moment of break please remember to take a moment or two and pray that God may lead you to help in the upcoming Live Nativity on Thursday, December 8 and Friday, December 9, 2016 from 6-8 P.M. at Young’s UM Rec Field.

The sign-up sheet has started to be sent around on Sundays and thank you to all who have already signed up to help spread the word of the birth of our Savior to our community.

There will be more to follow in the coming months.  The Live Nativity committee is so thankful for all the help and participation in this awesome event from our church family at Young’s and Shermans Dale UM Church.  We hope everyone will be able to be a part of it again this year. Remember there is a part for everyone!
